What This Protocol Is

Sermorelin is a GHRH (growth hormone-releasing hormone) analogue — a 29-amino acid synthetic peptide that stimulates the pituitary gland to produce and secrete growth hormone in its natural pulsatile pattern. Unlike direct GH injection, Sermorelin works through your own pituitary, making it gentler and more physiologically appropriate.

Sermorelin was FDA-approved for paediatric GH deficiency from 1997 until it was voluntarily withdrawn in 2008 for commercial reasons — not safety concerns. It has one of the longest-established safety profiles of any peptide in clinical use.

Why Start Here

For anyone wanting to explore the growth hormone axis, Sermorelin is the common starting point. It produces more modest IGF-1 elevation than stronger combinations like CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin, which makes it easier to titrate and monitor. The lower peak output also means less risk of glucose dysregulation and water retention that can accompany stronger GH secretagogues.

Results are gradual — sleep quality improvements typically appear in weeks 1–2. Skin texture and recovery improvements follow over months 2–3. Body composition changes emerge at the 3-month mark or later.

Blood Work Required

IGF-1 at baseline before starting. Recheck at month 3 and month 6. Also include fasting glucose and HbA1c — GH elevation affects insulin sensitivity and this should be monitored, even at the modest levels produced by Sermorelin alone.

Target IGF-1 range: 150–250 ng/mL for most adults. If IGF-1 exceeds 300, reduce dose or cycle length before proceeding.
